Life in the Retirement Community
“Sunnylake Shores village for over 55’s is situated in a quiet bushland setting on the shores of Lake Munmorah at Budgewoi. It is close to medical facilities, shops and trains and is just over an hour from Sydney.
The village offers a pet friendly environment where both the management and residents are caring and only too eager to help anyone out. There are many activities for the residents including darts and pool in the Community Room, as well as Christmas in July and Melbourne Cup luncheons. The park bus takes shoppers to Lakehaven and Tuggerah Shopping Centres on alternative weeks. The Social Committee arranges day trips each month to places of interest, including a special lunch.
Sunnylakes has been our home for just under four years now and we recommend it to anyone looking for a friendly and relaxing retirement. You can select an available site, choose from different designs and plan your new home.

“My wife, Annette and I toured around the Central Coast “over 55’s” villages for a couple of months. The thing that brought us back to Sunnylake Shores, was the warmth and generosity of welcome that was extended to us by Louise and Trevor Jeffery. As the resident managers, they make themselves available 24 hours a day, with great support in any situation.
Our community hall is a great venue for all our social activities. These include a library, darts and pool every week, indoor bowling, bingo & trivia once a month, card making, scrap booking and other crafts, and gentle exercise such as Tai-Chi. We have just started a dinner dance once a month which usually ends up in a great “sing along” and everybody enjoys this. Also, in the season, is the Friday night football gathering, which many of the guys thoroughly enjoy.
Once a month we have a residents morning tea at which suggestions are put forward, by our residents, for bus trips to places such as local theaters, race meetings, restaurants, local attractions including wineries in the Hunter Valley and other places of interest. Our bus also takes the residents to the major shopping centres every week and to the local shops as well.
The residents of Sunnylake shores are a group of people who think nothing of giving each other a hand, be it mowing a neighbour’s lawn, delivering a meal to someone who is ailing or driving someone to an appointment where transport is a problem. This caring concerned community is what makes Sunnylake Shores a great place to live and we could recommend it to anyone looking to retire in a happy, well run, over “55’s” village on the shores of Lake Munmorah.”

“Just over a year ago I decided to move out of suburbia into a village type setting. I felt it offered more benefits for a person my age. Some of the things I looked for were a secure, quiet bush land setting near the water, yet close to a shopping center. Having looked at several options, I settled on Sunnylake Shores because as well as providing all of the above, it also boasted it’s own bus for weekly shopping trips and outings, a comprehensive calendar of activities and social events. Also of consideration were the competitive site fees.
Twelve months on, I only have one regret. I should have made the move much sooner. The residents and management have more than made me feel welcome. The local flora and fauna are an added bonus, especially appreciated during early morning and evening walks. The indoor social activities, outings and physical exercise options are many and varied and more than lived up to my expectations.
I can confidently say that anybody choosing to move to Sunnylake Shores will be most welcomed and will certainly not regret their decision.”
Stress Free Retirement
“We spent a lot of time looking at Over 50’s Life Style Parks and it was after a great deal of consideration we decided on “Sunnylake Shores”. The Park had a friendly feeling and we felt we could spend our retirement there.
Well I have to say we definitely don’t regret our decision, from the time we started planning our new house to the time we moved into our new home; we couldn’t have had more help. Not only from Sunnylake Shores owners and management, but also from “Timberline” the house manufacturer.
We are now in our new home and loving it. We would have no problem recommending Sunnylake Shores to anyone looking for a place to retire to. We are sure you will love it just like us.”
