Life in the Retirement Community

“Sunnylake Shores village for over 55’s is situated in a quiet bushland setting on the shores of Lake Munmorah at Budgewoi. It is close to medical facilities, shops and trains and is just over an hour from Sydney.

The village offers a pet friendly environment where both the management and residents are caring and only too eager to help anyone out. There are many activities for the residents including darts and pool in the Community Room, as well as Christmas in July and Melbourne Cup luncheons. The park bus takes shoppers to Lakehaven and Tuggerah Shopping Centres on alternative weeks. The Social Committee arranges day trips each month to places of interest, including a special lunch.

Sunnylakes has been our home for just over five years now and we recommend it to anyone looking for a friendly and relaxing retirement. You can select an available site, choose from different designs and plan your new home.

“After almost 40 years in suburbia we decided to investigate the lifestyle of an over 55 residential village and decided on the Central Coast due to the close proximity to our children and grandchildren. We visited many villages in and around Budgewoi and finally decided that Sunnylake Shores was the perfect location not only because of the quiet and peaceful surrounds but also the fact that the owners were on site to assist with any problems that may occur, compared to other villages that only offer non-residential management.

We have been living in Sunnylake Shores for almost 4 years and have not regretted our decision. The owners have maintained a friendly and supportive environment and will do anything in their power to assist you to maintain a happy environment. The village has a very proactive social club and the village bus is available for outings and grocery trips. Obviously residential living in this type if village is not for everyone, but if you are looking for a quiet, safe and friendly lifestyle then we cannot recommend Sunnylake Shores highly enough..”

“Just over a year ago I decided to move out of suburbia into a village type setting. I felt it offered more benefits for a person my age. Some of the things I looked for were a secure, quiet bush land setting near the water, yet close to a shopping center. Having looked at several options, I settled on Sunnylake Shores because as well as providing all of the above, it also boasted it’s own bus for weekly shopping trips and outings, a comprehensive calendar of activities and social events. Also of consideration were the competitive site fees.

Twelve months on, I only have one regret. I should have made the move much sooner. The residents and management have more than made me feel welcome. The local flora and fauna are an added bonus, especially appreciated during early morning and evening walks. The indoor social activities, outings and physical exercise options are many and varied and more than lived up to my expectations.

I can confidently say that anybody choosing to move to Sunnylake Shores will be most welcomed and will certainly not regret their decision.”

We have been living here for 3.5 years now and couldn’t be happier, always plenty to do, a friendly lazy lifestyle with fishing and boating at your front door. The park bus for shopping or tours, with great owner management, still can’t believe the quietness at night just the noise of the ocean “no traffic at all”. Would highly recommend.
